The Outdoor Learning Map is a database of locations that have been used as learning sites in Edinburgh and across Scotland
Keeping the Door Open is a living database and map that supports educators to identify and develop learning in places and spaces that are accessible and relevant to students’ learning. Each location has an attached story describing examples of teaching delivered in each location. This project was created by Dr Beth Christie and Professor Robbie Nicol, funded by the Principals Teaching Award Scheme and Moray House School of Education & Sport, 2021. The interactive map was produced by EDINA, 2021.
The Mapping Green Infrastructure story map aims to deepen knowledge about greenspaces located around Edinburgh University’s campuses. This tool can be used to identify teaching spaces that are easy to access and adjacent to traditional learning spaces across Edinburgh. Created by EDINA 2023.
As part of the University of Edinburgh’s commitment to be zero carbon by 2040, The Forest and Peatland Programme is restoring peatlands and expanding forests in Scotland. The university owns three sites – Rullion Green (the Pentlands), Drumbrae (the Ochils), and Barvick Burn (Crieff) and works with multiple partners. These sites provide a range of opportunities for local communities, students and researchers creating multiple benefits for people and nature.
